One of my favorite hobbies is reading. I love to read a variety of different genres, but one of my favorites is personal development.
In fact, I enjoy reading so much that my mastermind, Root to Rise, includes a book club component, where we all read the same books and chat with each other about them!
If you’re looking for a great personal development read, here are 4 must-read books for creative entrepreneurs:
This book is a Root to Rise favorite! Rachel shares that “only 10 percent of the world’s millionaires are women, making it difficult for women to wield the economic power that will create lasting equality.” In her book, she challenges you to overcome a lack of self-confidence, build knowledge as you build wealth, and defeat imposter syndrome when it comes to money management. It’s a great read with tangible steps you can take today!
Amanda Frances focuses her money mindset work on manifestation and abundance, and while her book is a bit more woo-woo than Rachel Rodgers’ book above, it’s no less powerful. Amanda calls this book her “blueprint” to helping women make “more money than you know what to do with,” and she explains the truth about money and dismantles common anxieties and fears along the way.
James Clear’s #1 bestseller is trusted by so many for good reason: this book offers what James calls “a proven framework for improving – every day.” As an expert on habit formation, Atomic Habits offers practical strategies for forming good habits, breaking bad ones, and mastering “tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results.” If you’re ready to build habits in a systematic way, this book is for you.
Profit First turns conventional accounting logic (Sales – Expenses = Profit) on its head by asking business owners to consider profit as a non-negotiable in their businesses. To Mike, businesses are run by humans, and humans deserve to profit from their work. Mike’s formula of Sales – Profit = Expenses and his corresponding percentage-based accounting methods are widely respected and trusted today because his principles are easy to follow and manage. Bonus tip: my friend, Val Duvick of Val Marlene Creative, offers a money mindset course called Creative Income Cure, which is based on Michalowicz’s principles! Check it out here.
