Ready to capture the first few hours with your new baby?

Dallas-Fort Worth hospital Newborn Photographer

After photographing hundreds of brand new babies since 2011, I have fine-tuned my ability to capture the sweetest and most authentic moments in your hospital room.

Bringing a new baby into the world is about so much more than posing a sleepy baby in a wrap. It's about celebrating those special first hours together before leaving the bubble of the hospital.

The way your newborns tiny hand wraps around your finger. The way they watch you with a quiet intensity. The way your baby is soothed by your touch. The hospital bracelets and flaky skin. All of those details are magic and deserve to be captured.

Let's capture your baby's first hours together

The way I capture brand new babies, in a nutshell: don't expect to find any baby-in-a-basket style photos here. Instead, I meet you at the hospital and capture the connections, the relationships, and the moments that define the first few hours with your baby.

Whether you are a first-time parent or already have a gaggle of children, I am dedicated to telling your family's story.

THE PROCESS

THE PROCESS

When hiring a photographer, it's important that our visions align, so please peruse my website, galleries, and Instagram feed to ensure we fit well together! We will be spending a lot of time together, and it is important that you jive with me and also love my style.

Not all photographers are created equal.

See if I’m your girl

Believe it or not, newborn photographers book out pretty early - like, pee-on-the-stick early. Don’t wait until your baby is born to reach out to me. Once you have decided that I am your girl, let’s get your date on the calendar!

Don’t hesitate to book early

Once your date is officially reserved, I’ll send over a session prep guide and wardrobe ideas to help you prepare for your session. And to be honest, for hospital sessions it is all quite easy- think comfortable pajamas and simple details.

The weeks leading up to your due date, I will touch base to confirm nothing has changed with baby's arrival (they due tend to come whenever they are ready).  We make any necessary adjustments to your session day and go with the flow. When baby arrives, you will reach out to me and after I squeal with excitement we nail down exactly when I will meet you at the hospital.

Hospital Newborn Photography: FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS —

FAQ

How do I schedule a hospital session when babies come on their own time?

No. 1

Simple, we initially base your session date off of your due date. Then at 36 weeks, when you start having weekly appointments, you will start sending me updates.

If your doctor has any reason to believe baby will arrive early or late, you will let me know and we will adjust accordingly.

Those first few hours when it is just you and your baby at the hospital are this magical little bubble. There is something so special about that time before being launched into the real world. In all the years I have been doing this, hospital photos are always a family's most favorite photos. Always. Just trust me, you want to have a first 48 session.

First of all, that likely won’t happen. I have photographed so many brand new babies over the years, and that has happened only a handful of times. Babies want to be held, fed, and kept clean, and when we photograph your session at the hospital, it is easy to make sure all of those things happen.

Here's the deal: most mamas don’t, and that is totally normal and part of the process. I've been photographing newborns and their parents for more than a decade, and one of my jobs is to ensure that you are photographed in a flattering way. The other thing to consider is that you will likely be sitting in a hospital bed, covered in a blanket and holding a baby most of the session, and that will do wonders for covering your midsection.
Don't worry Mama, I got you.

They might be! And that is 100% okay with me! Honestly, I prefer a little chaos over perfectly behaved kiddos. Just leave the kids to me and love them through the mess. The best advice I can give you is to set your expectations accordingly and know that they may get silly and wild and then be prepared to laugh your way through the session. And the good news is that hospital sessions are short and sweet so it won't last long:)

No. I believe that a newborn is most natural and comfortable in the arms of their parents; therefore, that is how we spend most of the session. I will definitely capture solo shots of just the baby, but I do require parent participation during the session.
