Hi, my name is Sabrina and I love to read.
Truthfully, I read for at least an hour (sometimes two) every night before I go to bed and it is such a key part of my self-care routine.
I spend hours on a computer and I really unwind with a good book. Plus I have always enjoyed reading so while I have had to build the habit of doing it every night. It definitely does not feel like a chore. (And to clarify, I do mean a physical book in my hands, not an audio book and not an e-reader situation. I love the feel of a new book and turning the pages). And quite honestly, a bookstore is one of my favorite places to spend free time. (If you are local to Fort Worth, this is my favorite although I do utilize Amazon a bit too!)
Anyways, I thought it would be fun to spotlight some of my favorite reads from the past year. If you are anything like me, you are always looking for a good book recommendation.
Here is the deal, I read a LOT. And I loved most of them. So, I am not going to write a summary of all of them because this blog post would be WAY too long. This is literally just a list with links so you can easily add them to you Amazon cart. Okay, a couple of them have a comment or two next to the title, but just keep in mind, if they are on the list, I am recommending them
And to keep things slightly organized, I have split them into 3 categories: Historical Fiction, Personal Growth and Everything else. You will also easily see that Historical Fiction is my go-to.
Historical Fiction Book Recommendations
Lovely War– Technically filed under Young Adult, but I loved it just the same.
Mystery of Mrs. Christie– I am obsessed with everything Marie Benedict writes. And I am eagerly awaiting her next novel coming later this month!
The Personal Librarian– another Marie Benedict
Carnegie’s Maid– another Marie Benedict
The Other Einstein– Also Marie Benedict. Just go ahead and order all of them (I read the others in 2020 that is why they aren’t on this list)
Rose Code– REALLY loved this one!
Book of Lost Names– Also really loved this one.
Personal Growth Book Recommendations
Share Your Stuff, I’ll Go First– Such an easy read about friendships and the importance of authenticity in relationships.
Believe It– Such an inspiring and easy read about the road to being an entrepreneuer, taking chances and of course, believing in yourself.
Lazy Genius– Heartwarming, funny and practical.
Burnout– Whether you are in business or just in a stressed out life where you always feel run ragged, this is a great read.
All the Other Book Recommendations
Re: Everything Else
Daisy Jones & The Six– So. Dang. Good.
The Last Thing He Told Me– I read this book SO fast!
American Royals– What if America had a royal family? It is such a cool story line and if you are obsessed with royal culture (like me) this is a fun read. Technically Young Adult, but I loved it.
Majesty– This is part two to American Royals. I blew through both of them in a week. And I am SUPER excited that two more in the series are set to debut later this year.
I hope you are inspired to grab some books and prioritize reading this year! Can you do me a favor? I am always looking for my next read so will you drop a comment with a couple of your favorite books? And when you leave me a comment, tell me if you think I should turn book recommendations into a quarterly blog post?
