Hiking Clothes in Jackson Hole Wyoming Vacation Family Photographer

This family is one of my long, LONG time clients. They are super rad and I have photographed them so many times. (We all know I am terrible at blogging and only about 10% of my work actually makes it up here but here are some fun sneaks from just a few their many sessions over the years: race cars at home, last years Mommy and Me session, big brothers 6 month session)

Anyways, for years we talked about a travel session and the stars finally aligned for us to meet in Jackson Hole last summer.

Once we arrived in Jackson Hole (both for the first time), I began scouting locations that would work well for a family session. I found a great spot and while we were finalizing meeting time and how to get to the spot, Mom mentions to me that they were just going to stay in their hiking clothes because, “that is more normal” for them. In that moment, my heart burst. Keep in mind this is the same Mom who had her boys show up to a Mothers Day session in sports jerseys and mismatched shorts because “that is them”.

She values authenticity. And I love her so much for it.

Don’t get me wrong, beautifully styled clothes, hair and makeup is incredible but it isn’t at all real. I have a true appreciation for both styled and authentic. But capturing this boy Mom in the mountains while everyone is clad in hiking gear was just absolute perfection.

We moved to another location at the end of the session. It was waterfront and an epic rock throwing spot. Yes, the mosquitoes were horrific but the boys (mine included) had a blast. It was the perfect way to end on a high note.

This family loved their travel session and I did too. Here is what Mom had to say about her experience with an SGP travel session, “I think it’s a no brainer. The pictures are moments you will cherish for a lifetime and I have never loved photos of my family more than when Sabrina takes them. The travel is my new favorite too because it isn’t us with the same backdrop every year. We get to explore with her.”
