2019 Year in Review | Fort Worth Lifestyle Photographer

There are so many highlights from the year that I don’t really know where to start!

I guess I will start with travel because that is always a highlight for me:) In 2019, I was lucky enough to travel with clients to Jackson Hole, 30A (twice) and New York City. The six families I photographed in these unique locations were just a complete dream to work with. Most of them are long time clients but some are new friends. Each session was beautiful and special and unique and I am *really* hoping that 2020 brings some incredible travel sessions as well. (PS: You can reach out to me about planning your 2020 travel session now)

In 2019, I held the most fun Mothers Day mini sessions. I even offered a date in Dallas which I hadn’t done in years. I absolutely LOVE photographing motherhood and those sessions were definitely one of the years highlights for me.

Last fall, I went a different route for family mini sessions and shot indoor minis for first time. I won’t lie, I LOVED it and totally see it becoming an annual thing. A few of the reasons I loved them so much: air conditioning, not having to depend on perfect weather and air conditioning. Yes, I said that twice. Because not sweating through your fall family photos is a total treat:)

In 2019 I photographed lots of babies and lots of simply sessions. And honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Newborns, First 48’s and SGP Simply sessions are some of my most favorite things that I do (hence the reason that I do them so often).

Of course one of the biggest highs from 2019 was the creation of Yes, Lets. My friend Jodie and I had been brainstorming this baby for a while and it was finally born. It has been a LOT of hard work and honestly, we have struggled to balance it with our own businesses but we love it so much. We were able to host our first two workshops in 2019 and we have BIG plans for 2020 (including our first Lifestyle Newborn Workshop in January)!

I wasn’t sure whether to title this a year in review or a decade in review but to be honest, I don’t really want to go back and dig for images from 9 years ago, so due to laziness mainly, we will focus this on a review of 2019. But I can’t let the post end without saying that in the new year (and new decade) there are big things coming down the pipe. BIG things. I honestly haven’t been this excited about a new year and new plans than when I first started my business in 2011. I can’t wait to share all the details with you *very* soon. So soon in fact, that if you haven’t signed up for my newsletter, this is the time you want to do that. Trust me on this one. You can sign up for the photographers newsletter or the client newsletter.
