I love this family.

I know, I know, I say that about so many of my families but seriously. I have been photographing them for 8 years and they are an absolute joy. Every session is better than the last.

I have walked with them through 3 babies, 2 homes, a major home renovation, job changes, illness, loss of a beloved pet and even vacations. I feel like I am practically an honorary member of their family.

So funny story about this session:

This session was rescheduled like 5 times. And on the morning of, Mom called me to tell me that the youngest had a minor food allergy issue that required a dose of Benadryl… therefore little man was basically drunk during our session. ?

I am not an inflexible person. I would have totally rescheduled again but Mom and I talked and decided to just try and make it work. So that is what we did.

Was it ideal? Nope.

Was little man exhausted the entire time? Yep.

So how did I make this work?

I did the same thing I always do. I played with kids. I let them guide where we went and what we did. Mom, Dad and I laughed a lot because little man was just so pitiful. And here is the most important part… Mom and Dad trust me.
