When is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot?

As a new parent, you’ve probably spent hours scrolling through social media admiring cute pictures of newborns. And now you are expecting and dreaming of your own adorable baby images. I am going to try and convince you that hiring a newborn photographer to come to your home for a photoshoot is a the BEST way to capture those precious photos of your baby AND create memories that will last a lifetime.

And I know you are wondering when is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot? Don’t worry, I am going to get to that.

But first, the great news is that hiring a newborn photographer means you don’t have to worry about taking the photos yourself. With everything else that comes with being a new parent, the last thing you want is to add the pressure of getting the perfect shot to your already long to-do list. When you hire a professional photographer, you can sit back and relax while they take care of everything.

Another reason to hire a newborn photographer is that they have the experience and expertise to capture you and your baby’s best moments. Newborn photography is a specialized skill that requires knowledge of baby safety, posing, and lighting. A professional photographer will know how to position your baby to get the best shot while ensuring their safety at all times. They’ll also have the right equipment and lighting to make sure everyone looks their best in every photo.

But perhaps the biggest reason to hire a newborn photographer is the memories you’ll create.

The first few weeks of your baby’s life are some of the most precious moments you’ll ever experience as a parent. You’ll never forget the feeling of holding your baby for the first time or the sound of their tiny cry. A newborn photoshoot is a great way to capture those moments and create a visual reminder of just how small and precious your baby was in those first few weeks.

Now, you might be wondering when is the best time to schedule a newborn photoshoot?

The short answer is: you have more time than you think. Yes, newborns change quickly, and the first few weeks of their life are when they’re the smallest and most delicate. That being said, I want you to be a bit adjusted to parenthood and to make sure you’re feeling up to it before the session. The first few weeks of your baby’s life can be a blur of sleepless nights and endless feedings, that is just one of the reasons that I love to encourage client’s to schedule their newborn session somewhere in the 3-6 week old window.

In terms of logistics, my newborn sessions can take 60-90 minutes, depending on how many kids are involved and how smooth things are going. It’s a good idea to schedule the shoot during a time when your baby is likely to be sleepy and calm, such as after a feeding or nap. Of course, I have lots of tips and tricks to help soothe your baby and get them happy and calm.

In conclusion, hiring a newborn photographer to come to your home for a photoshoot is a great way to capture those precious moments and create memories that will last a lifetime.

While I believe the ideal time for a newborn photoshoot is within the first 6 weeks of your baby’s life, make sure to schedule the shoot when you’re feeling up to it and talk to your photographer about their preferences. With a little planning and preparation, you’ll have beautiful photos of your newborn to cherish for years to come.
